A graduate of Belarusian Polytechnic University, Protasevich took First Place in the Young Architects Competition of Belarus in 1988, and Second Place in the Young Architects Competition of the USSR in 1989. Upon graduation he moved to Paris, France, where he worked for the former President of the French Academy of Architecture Mr. Vladimir Mitrofanoff. In January 1990 Alex moved to the United States. From 1990 to 1993 he worked as as a project designer for a large architectural firm in Salt Lake City, Utah. In 1993 he and one of his co-workers started Arc/Artel Architecture in Salt Lake City, Utah. In 2007 Protasevich moved to Los Angeles, California, and opened Arc Artel Design Studio. He passed his Architects Licensing Exams in 2000. Over the years Protasevich designed, managed, and supervised the construction of the numerous commercial and residential projects, and successfully participated in various National and International design competitions.
