Commentary
"The Lister courthouse (1917-21)—arguably the most theatrical of Erik Gunnar Asplund's buildings — occupies an important position in the sequence of his classical designs...The theatricality is most apparent in the delight that Asplund took in giving each of the four fa�ades a different — indeed contradictory — character. They are like stage sets that neither relate to one another nor say much about what is happening within...
